Delete your RainSplit account
Last updated October 7, 2026
You can delete your RainSplit account yourself, from the mobile app or the website, at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what is removed and what is kept.
How to delete your account
- In the app: open RainSplit, go to Profile, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account and confirm with your password (or your email, if you sign in with Google).
- On the website: sign in and open your profile, then use Delete my account at the bottom of the page.
- Can't sign in? Email hello@rainsplit.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We'll verify it's you and delete it, usually within a few days.
You must be settled up first. If you owe someone, or someone owes you, or a settlement is waiting for approval, settle up and then delete. This keeps everyone else's balances fair.
What is deleted right away
- Your name, email address, phone number, address and UPI ID
- Your profile photo
- Your password, Google sign-in link, and every logged-in session on every device
- Your push notification tokens
- Your comments on expenses
- Your recurring expense templates are paused so they stop creating expenses
- Any group where you were the only member
What is kept, and why
Expenses, payments, splits and settlements you took part in stay in the groups they belong to, with your name replaced by “Deleted user” and no way to identify you. Removing them would change what other people owe each other. Short activity-log entries in those groups are kept for the same reason. Nothing kept is linked back to your email or any contact detail.
Once deleted, your email address is free to sign up again as a brand-new account. The deleted account cannot be recovered.
