About RainSplit
Why RainSplit exists
RainSplit started with a trip to Mussoorie. A few of us went away for a few days, someone booked the stay, someone else covered the cabs. By the end of it, working out who owed what meant scrolling back through a week of UPI screenshots and WhatsApp messages, trying to reconstruct who paid for what.
We tried the usual fixes. A shared spreadsheet that nobody updated after day one. Mental math that always seemed to end in someone insisting they'd already paid their share. “I'll pay you back later” texts that quietly never got resolved. None of it was actually hard. It was just tedious enough that nobody wanted to be the one doing it.
So I built RainSplit to be the thing that just remembers. Log an expense, say who paid, and how it's split. RainSplit keeps the running balance for you, across one trip, one flat, or every friend you regularly split things with. No app for the person who owes you money to download. No spreadsheet to maintain. Just a clear number, and a way to settle it.
It's still a small, independently-built project. New features show up because a real group ran into a real problem RainSplit didn't handle yet. If that happens to you, the fastest way to fix it is to tell us.
What we believe
No dashboards. No streaks.
Just a clear answer to "who owes who" whenever you need it.
No ads. Nothing sold.
No ad trackers, nothing sold to third parties. Export everything you've entered, any time you want.
No more awkward reminders
RainSplit remembers who owes what, so nobody has to send the "so, about that ₹500..." text.
Built by someone who uses it
Every feature exists because a real trip or a real flat-share needed it.
